RFA 6: Research Impact in Action

RFA 6: Research Impact in Action Online

Research Impact in Action provides participants with an understanding of the definitions and terminology around non-academic impact, the different categories of impact and how to achieve them in different fields of research. It also covers the pathway to create impact, the elements of successful impact; as well as impact activities and how they relate to the impact types. Participants will also learn about impact indicators and the evidence required to support impact claims.

Objectives

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Articulate the meaning of research impact according to Western’s definition
  • Recall examples of research impact in different fields
  • Identify points where completed research has achieved impact
  • Include impact considerations in the research project design phase
  • Provide examples of indicators of research evidence
  • Write an impact statement

Audience
This session is suitable for ECRs and MCRs
