Exhibition: Wombats - A Call to Action

Exhibition: Wombats - A Call to Action In-Person

There are three species of wombats in the world, and they only occur in Australia. The Bare-nosed wombat (Vombatus ursinus), the Northern Hairy-nosed Wombat (Lasiorhinus krefftii) and the Southern Hairy-nosed Wombat (Lasiorhinus latifrons). The Northern Hairy-nosed Wombat is the largest burrowing marsupial in the world, and one of Australia’s rarest mammals. It is Critically Endangered and restricted to two feral proof protected areas in Queensland.

This exhibition sheds light on the threats currently facing Australia's wombats, and how you can help, as a citizen scientist. Highlighting the work and research of WSU's Associate Professor Julie Old, come and learn all about these fascinating creatures, and the challenges they face.

This exhibition runs from 25th June - 16th August in the Penrith Campus Library Gallery Space. Admission is free.
