Researcher Development: Systematic Reviews - The nuts & bolts of structured searching (Part 2) Online

Welcome to Part 2 of the Library's systematic review training series.

This session covers the practical side of structured searching.  If you are not sure where to start or want to avoid 'hit and miss' searching, this session is for you.

What's covered:

 - use a framework to deconstruct your research question into searchable concepts OR show you how to use a framework to develop your research (clinical) question

 - apply Boolean operators, searching tips such as truncation, proximity searching, and phrase searching to a search string

 - use a thesaurus to generate a subject search (coupled with a keyword search across Title & Abstract) in a subject-specific database

 - Sharing of resources to help in documenting your search strategy & translating searches across multiple platforms
